HP(M) is the central urban space of the new town of Haikou. Located in the west of the city, the project stretches out from the sea to the end of the development.

We have carried out a feasibility study on how to increase the commercial use of a central public open area, while maintaining the maximized green use of it. With the park as a traditional concept of a green recreational space, it has the potential to introduce a broader meaning to the urban areas, which also incorporates program as well as infrastructure. The idea is very simple but intriguing:

We maintain 100% of open green area, hence add another 100% of programmable space. We introduce Architecture, that disappears under the surface of the park, lifts it and generates multiple public functions on the newly create sloped surfaces, as well as beneath.
