The site is located north of Beijing. Shunyi was a non planned suburb of military garisons, brewery and sport and training facilities.

With Shunyi hosting the equestian and rowing disciplines for the 2004 Olympic games, there was a need for a better planning guideline to the site.

The purpose of the zoning plan was to use the olympic functions to upgrade and redevelop the district as well as using the sports facilities for future leisure purposes. Our plan proposed a central green belt which connects all the different venues and acts as a leisure and sport spine for the newly formed district.
